BBC Calling

We were commissioned by BBC NI to produce a short piece for this years Belfast Festival, a film reacting artistically to one of the events which could be used online, so it was a pleasure to stretch our creative limbs and use a mix of stock footage and the sublime poetry of Frank Ormsby to make this:

The Innovation Factory

Belfast City Council commissioned us to produce a short film for the launch of the new Innovation Factory in West Belfast, a business incubation hub for the city. The film was used at the launch event and will be used to promote the facilities in the future. It was great to be involved with such a progressive project for the city.

ps – The aerial footage was borrowed, the rest is ours.

A matter of Choices

Working to advance social issues is one of our key goals at Bluebird and helping to deliver a project with long time clients and collaborators Alternatives NI and Prime Cut Productions saw the realisation of the short film CHOICES, a point of view piece developed by young people to prompt discussion around the challenges of making the right decisions on a daily basis.

Defining Futures through Music

Here is a short edit of the documentary we made for Springboard Opportunities about the groundbreaking Fusion project, uniting young bandsmen from different backgrounds in Belfast. The project took us to Belgium, France and culminated with a standing ovation at Queens University.

Happy Days

So it’s St. Patrick’s Day and we have been out and about in Belfast documenting the celebrations and playing with new toys such as the DJI Osmo handheld stabiliser, a real joy to use on occasions such as this.

Also working with Down District Council this week to produce a thirty second sequence to be used in the Welcome Centre, Belfast, sneak peak at the first edit here –

Projection & Reflection

2016 gets of to a flying start with a series of documentary projects for Springboard Opportunities with young young people from many backgrounds exploring the year of centenaries 1916 – 2016 in Ireland and trips to France, Belguim and Poland. Also first screening to an audience of 300+ for a short film commissioned by Belfast City Council and Prime Cut Productions about the new Girdwood Community Hub in North Belfast and its potential for the future integration of communities.

Feedback from the client:

“Just to let you know that the doc was shown today at the opening ceremony for Girdwood. About 300 people there. Went down really really well. So many people talking about how brilliant it was – captured the participants authentic voices in a really slick and well produced video. Well done, a really stirling job.” Matt Faris, Project Director, Prime Cut Productions.
